In order to keep up the prolific nature of this blog I shall now add my comments for October. This post concerns a script I just received from 2 of my students for their project on "superstitions". They were asked to prepare a mini drama incorporating some phrases and gestures I taught them around the theme of fortune telling and superstitions. Here is the script, handed to me by 2 ichi nensei girls. They have chosen to play the roles of the popular childrens characters, Anpanman and Shokupanman:

Anpanman: "Oh, I had a strange dream"

Shokupanman: "Are you all right? How dream?"

Anpanman: "I had a dream, I am thrown shits. It was the worst dream."

Shokupanman: "Oh?! Why? The dream is a good dream."

Anpanman: "Why? I don't know, why is it good?"

Shokupanman: "When you have a dream that you are thrown into shit you will become rich."

Anpanman: "Oh, really? I'm glad because I don't have any money."

Shokupanman: It was good!!!! I want to look this dream too!"

So there you have it. Apparently if you have a dream that you are thrown shits then you will become rich. I don't know how exactly to mark this one.
